Sheila Acosta
Administrative Director & Teacher
Since my early childhood days in Arizona, I knew (in my heart) that I wanted to work with children. As the youngest of four siblings, I was appointed my niece's (and nephew's) babysitter. Growing up my mother taught me the value of providing caring childcare for working families. She helped instill a passion for helping families which motivated me to pursue a Master's degree in Education Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in Early Childhood Education. My journey to where I am today has not been an easy one. However, I have been blessed with the ability to assist families every step of the way. Every challenge in my life has taught me lessons and skills that I now use with the families of Salinas. For the last 3 years, I have had the privilege of serving the families of Laura’s Barn. I have truly enjoyed every moment of it. As Administrative Director, I try to lead by example, empower my staff, as well as strive to provide a nurturing and safe environment for our children. I look forward to continuing to develop myself as a person, and a teacher. It is my goal to inspire the next generation of teachers.
